Visit of Jean Decety

Jean Decety is visiting Gate in September 2021, thanks to an incoming mobility grant of INSHS (CNRS). Jean Decety is the Irving B. Harris Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago and the College. He is the Director of the Child Neurosuite and head of the Social Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory in Chicago. He is an expert in developmental psychology and social neurosciences, with a particular focus on emotions and empathy, social decision-making, social cognition, morality, and anti-social behavior, combining behavioral economics and neurosciences. He has published several reference papers and books on the development of morality, empathy, and prosocial behavior in children. Jean Decety gived a lecture at GATE-Lab on September 13, 11am, on the topic : “Les apports et les limites de l’empathie dans la décision morale »
